The Outer Rim Territories of the Far Galaxy

The Outer Rim Territories are the section of the galaxy that contains Tatooine and Ryloth. This section of the galaxy has long marked the farthest edges of galactic expansion, since it represents a huge amount of space beyond the Inner Rim Territories. For this reason, the Empire has committed more of its heinous atrocities there.

The Outer Rim is under the governmental control of Grand Moff Kobin Tarvik and for a time was administered from the first DEATH STAR until its destruction at the Battle of Yavin. Officially, the governor's seat of the Outer Rim now lies on the planet Kodai, though Tarvik often administers his duties from the 5th DEATH STAR.

The Inner Rim, Mid Rim and Outer Rim make up what is collectively known as the Rim Territories.
