Rebel Alliance

The Rebel Alliance was formed in the early days of the Galactic Empire by senators who disliked the idea of a dictatorship and who did not believe the Emperor's claims with regards to the Jedi. Its first major victory came some years later with the Battle of Yavin, where it successfully destroyed an Imperial DEATH STAR. However, the Rebel Alliance was decimated at the Massacre of Endor, and what few Rebels survived it were either rounded up by the Empire for trial, imprisonment, and execution or forced to flee deep into space.

The original leaders of the Rebel Alliance, both politically and militarily, are no longer involved in any obvious aspect. Most of the high-ranking military personnel were either killed or captured at the Massacre of Endor, if not before, and many of its political leaders have also vanished into the ether. Though reports surface from time to time on distant worlds that claim they have found various missing Rebels of some import, most such reports are dismissed as desperate cries from those who do not wish to believe that all of the members of the Rebel insurgency have been wiped out.

Some survivors of the Rebel Alliance have formed new cells which are collectively referred to as the Rebel Remnant, but these Rebel cells are far from united and generally do not work together. Virtually all of these Rebel cells work independently of one another, do not maintain communication with other cells, and none were formed or joined by previously high-ranking or legendary figures of the original Rebel Alliance.
