Background:
Selune Pardek was born of both Vulcan and Romulan heritage, but she has little knowledge of either side of her family. Soon after she was born, she was abandoned on space station Deep Space 4 and was brought up in that environment. She doesn't like Vulcans in general, but she has a hatred to Romulans that is borderline on eccentricity. Selune was inducted into Starfleet Academy at age 17 and showed extreme promise right from the start with tactical maneuvers. Selune was also the only student in her class to defeat the Kobiashi Maru. Unfortunately her training center was completely destroyed in the exercise. She received honorable recognition for her achievement, however Admiral Jasun quoted: "A person of Selune's demeanor should never be allowed at the command of a starship--she'd turn half the alpha quadrant into a 'training simulation . . .'" Consequently, Selune has been banned the possibility of ever having a starship command.
After she graduated from Starfleet, she was assigned to the USS GARFIELD until it was taken over by the Borg during the incursion at Wolf 359. During the battle to regain control of the ship, Selune set off a photon torpedo inside the starship, destroying the Borg Infestation. The ship was just barely evacuated before it was destroyed by a Warp Core Breach, which was caused by the explosion. She has been in active service since that point. She received psychiatric treatment during her assignment on the USS FELIX.
Following the United Federation of Planets' brief altercation with the Galactic Empire, Lt. Pardek was promoted to a position on board another Starfleet vessel.
Character Notes:
She has extremely sensitive eyes. This has the disadvantage of forcing her to wear a thick sunvisor in any well-lit area, but she also has the advantage of being able to see, even in the darkest of situations.
