Terrans

Terrans In the TFC Universe, "Terran" refers to the anthroids who originated on the planet Earth. "Terran" originates from the Latin word for their homeworld, "Terra". Occasionally Non-Terrans use the terms 'Earthling' or 'Earther' to distinguish Terrans living on Earth from those resident on colonies on other planets. Rarely are these words used by the Terrans themselves, except in jest or by persons with seperatist views who wish to draw special distinction to a person's birth-world. Generally people in the TFC Universe use the term "Terran" to refer to subjects or institutions associated with anyone descended from persons originating from Earth. (Terran cuisine, Terran literature, Terran art, etc).

Overview
A founding member of the United Federation of Planets, Terrans of Earth became warp-capable in 2063, which was the same year they experienced first contact with an alien species, the Vulcans. By the 24th century, Terran society had progressed greatly. On Earth, hunger, war, disease, famine, and poverty have largely been eliminated. The acquisition of wealth is no longer the primary driving force in the lives of many Terrans. A great deal of emphasis is placed on the importance of continued societal and self-growth. Thanks to the quasi-socialist New World Economy and the development of replicators, material needs are largely satisfied. Money (currency) is no longer used by Terrans within the Federation, but they use gold-pressed latinum and other forms of currency (such as Bajoran litas and credits) in places where it is still needed, such as Quark's. The idea behind not using money is that Terrans work to better themselves and the rest of their Society. It must be noted that all of this more specifically applies to Terrans within the Sol system, as many Earth colonies are known to have developed vast cultural differences from other Terrans and some have even fallen into anarchy, most notably Turkana IV.
TFC Fur Species
Terrans in TFC are a highly diverse group of people and come in all shapes, sizes and colors. TFC Terrans posses the most basic anthro traits and lack the augmentation one would find in an alien of even the same fur species. For example, a Klingon Tiger would possess forehead ridges, larger body size and the dual organ structures while a Terran Tiger would not.
